UNDERARM STRAP. Many rescue authorities consider it essential: without a crotch strap, a life jacket slowly slides up over the head and must be held down with constant effort. The groin strap keeps the jacket down and positions the wearer higher in the water, conserving precious energy and extending survival time, especially in cold water. 25 mm polypropylene strap with quick-release buckle.
