Lewmar Capstan Winch C4 (1600 W) and Capstan C5 (2000 W)
The Lewmar 1600 W 12 V remote control switch is the electrical switching component designed for the Lewmar series Capstan winches, specifically the C4 model. It allows the winch motor to be controlled remotely, protecting the control circuits from the high current drawn by the motor in operation. It is an original Lewmar accessory, designed and sized for the power and voltage of that motor.
Lewmar places this remote control switch within the range of stainless steel winches and anchor windlasses of the V series. The C4 and C5 Capstan winches to which the family refers use a motor with a right-angle gearbox to keep the installation depth shallow, a bell with a WARP grip system to reduce line wear, a non-return system integrated into the gearbox, and a 316 stainless steel structure; the remote control switch must be paired with the 12 V and 1600 W version, i.e., the Capstan C4.
