Lewmar Winch Management Electronics and Conversion Solenoid
The Lewmar ELS solenoid and the ELS control unit are the electronic components that manage the electrical operation of Lewmar Ocean and EVO Race series self-tailing winches, including configurations achieved using manual-to-electric conversion kits.
The range includes two versions with different control logics. The E version is a simple solenoid that transmits an ON-OFF pulse: the motor either receives voltage or does not, with no intermediate regulation. The ELS version, on the other hand, integrates an electronic control unit that manages the winch speed and protects the system from overloads. The models also differ in operating voltage and winch compatibility: the E solenoid operates at 12 V and is paired with the Ocean 34, 40, 44, 46, and 48 winches and the EVO/EVO Race 40, 45, and 50; the ELS control unit operates at 12/24 V and is paired with the Ocean 54 and the EVO/EVO Race 55.
Available versions: E 12V Solenoid for Ocean 34/40/44/46/48 and EVO Race 40/45/50, and ELS 12V/24V Control Unit for Ocean 50/54 and EVO Race 50/55.
