The AK7 coupling, 35 mm diameter, AL-KO is a coupling / connection for unbraked trailers, designed for light applications.
MAIN FEATURES:
- Maximum permitted load (unbraked trailers): 750 kg
- Axle load (stutzlast / nose load): 75 kg
- Connection diameter (drawbar / drawbar shaft): Ø 35 mm
- Mounting holes (for horizontal bolts / screws): Ø 12.2 mm, hole spacing 54 mm (version A)
- Material / surface protection: zinc-plated or galvanized steel to resist corrosion
- Operating angle / indicators: visual / mechanical indicator: when the handle is in the “open” position, a red mark appears: not yet locked. When it is “closed/coupled”, the indicator disappears and the handle locks the coupling horizontally
- Fatigue strength / D / Dc value: 7.19 kN (fatigue value)
- Tightening torque for the bolt / screw: 75 Nm (minimum torque)
- Approximate weight of the coupling: approx. 1.3 kg

In terms of operation, the AK7 coupling, 35 mm diameter, AL-KO comes into operation when the trailer/caravan drawbar is coupled with the ball: the coupling head surrounds the ball, allowing the operating handle to move from the tilted position (red visible) to the horizontal locking position.
If the red color remains visible during the coupling procedure, it means that the anchoring is not complete, so the procedure must be repeated before continuing the journey or leaving the trailer in storage.
The coupling is correctly coupled when the red color no longer appears.
