SENTINEL ONE STAR. The new bilge switch that solves the long-standing problem of water in the bilge The operation of SENTINEL is very simple: when powered, it goes into standby mode. As soon as the water level reaches the sensors and wets them simultaneously for at least 30 seconds, SENTINEL activates the pump, which will be automatically deactivated 15 seconds after one of the two sensors is no longer reached by the water. The two sensors in contact with the water are completely isolated, so as to avoid any oxidation process or galvanic currents. The aluminum body of the switch is also electrically isolated. It does not have particular positioning problems: its circular shape with single-screw central mounting allows the instrument to be oriented towards the direction of the incoming cables (or whichever makes installation easier), thanks also to its three rear spacers. On the front of the switch there are three connection points represented by internally threaded brass bushings + (positive pole), – (negative pole) and P (positive pole of the pump). The sensors consist of two AISI 316 stainless steel plates. This very simple shape allows the sensors to be adapted to any type of installation. They can be fixed using plastic cable ties or, by drilling a hole, they can be fixed with a screw or glued with silicone. The constraints to consider are: the distance between the sensors must not exceed 30cm and the length of the cables from the switch to the sensors must not exceed 15m.
