How to choose mounting brackets, frames and spare parts for motorcycle top cases
Top case mounting bracket: compatibility with the motorcycle model
Top Master top case mounting brackets are custom-designed for each motorcycle or scooter: the same base is not interchangeable between different models. Before purchasing, check the exact vehicle model and year of manufacture, because the same model often has versions with different mounting brackets. The kit includes the mounting plate for the luggage rack and the quick-release elements compatible with top cases of the same brand.
Side case carriers: 3P or 4P system
Side case carriers are mainly divided into two systems: 3P, which uses three mounting points on the motorcycle frame, and 4P, with four points for greater stability on touring or adventure models. The choice depends on the type of motorcycle and compatibility with the side cases you intend to use. Here too, referring to the specific model is essential.
Backrests and luggage racks
The backrest is attached to the top case and improves passenger comfort; there are versions with a logo and neutral versions, as well as specific kits for certain motorcycle models. The additional luggage rack is fixed on top of the top case and allows you to secure extra luggage with straps or bungee cords. Both accessories are generally compatible with the range of top cases from the same brand.
Spare parts: how to find the right part
For original spare parts — locks, opening mechanisms, reflectors, cords, iron components — it is essential to know the top case code (for example SH23, SH36, SH39, SH46, SH48, SH59X). This code is usually printed inside the top case itself. Use it to filter the results and find the exact spare part: an incorrect component may not fit or could compromise the locking mechanism.
