Le marche di Toilets and urinals

This section includes everything you need for your camper’s toilet: portable toilets such as Porta Potties, cassette-style fixed toilets, chemical toilets for a flush-and-drain tank, flushable toilet paper, and accessories such as toilet brushes and organizers. To choose, start with the type of installation planned for the vehicle and the available waste disposal system.

How to choose the right toilet and chemicals for your camper

The choice depends mainly on three factors: the type of toilet already installed or to be installed, the compatibility between the chemicals and the waste disposal system, and usage habits during trips.

Portable toilet or cassette toilet

The portable toilet is the simplest and most flexible solution: it does not require a fixed plumbing system and can be used wherever needed. The most sought-after models belong to the Thetford Porta Potti family (335, 345, 365 and Qube 145 series) and the Fiamma Bi-Pot (in 30, 34 and 39-litre sizes), which stand out for the capacity of the lower tank. The cassette toilet, such as the Dometic CTS/CTW 4110 models or the Thetford models with removable cassette, integrates into the camper's interior and requires connection to the water system; it offers greater comfort but a more demanding installation.

Incinerating toilet: when you need it

For those who do not have a water connection or want to completely eliminate the use of chemicals, the Cinderella Travel is an incinerating toilet that requires neither water nor a collection tank. It uses dedicated toilet paper sheets and reduces organic waste to ash. It is a niche solution, suitable for prolonged off-grid use.

Chemicals: liquids, concentrates and tablets

Camper toilet chemicals are divided into products for the lower tank (which reduce odors and speed up the breakdown of waste) and for the upper flush tank. Thetford Aqua Kem Blue is the classic reference for the waste tank; the Green concentrate version and the Aqua Kem Bio PowerPods tablets are lower-environmental-impact alternatives. Aqua Rinse, on the other hand, is the product for the clean water tank. Always check the compatibility between the chosen chemical and the type of disposal available at campsites.

Flushable toilet paper

In cassette toilets, it is essential to use flushable toilet paper, which does not clog the tanks. The most sought-after are Thetford Aqua Soft and Fiamma Soft: they dissolve quickly when in contact with chemicals and do not damage the valves.

Spare parts and accessories

For fixed toilets, the most frequently replaced components are the seat and lid, the waste tank replacement kit and the macerator (present on models that include one, such as some versions of the C200 cassette). Before ordering a spare part, note down the exact model of the installed toilet: the kits are not universal. Among the accessories, free-standing ABS toilet brushes and toiletry organizers complete the bathroom setup.

Domande frequenti
